Homes On Show - Save My Bathroom

Behind every job there is a story. This one starts with a homeowner, and a vision to renovate her bathroom from an outdated 1970’s relic to a modern, clean, and functional bathroom. The Dilemma The story starts with Joanne and her first tradie, a referral from a friend. The tradie seemed great. The homeowner and the tradie agreed that Joanne would buy everything that was needed for the bathroom, and the tradie gave her a cost to install and renovate to her plan. Fast forward three months and the tradie was nowhere to be seen and uncontactable. With the goods for her bathroom waiting in Mitre 10 and a loan taken out for the project, Joanne was desperate to get the job underway. The Solution “I spoke to someone at work, saying I didn’t know what to do. I needed to have my bathroom renovated, and my colleague said, have you put it on Builderscrack? Then they showed me how Builderscrack works, how to log on and use the site. I put the advert on the next day, and within two

It all started several years back when she tackled her own home renovation. The success of her renovation led to several friends enlisting her to do their various projects. With a few jobs under her belt she began to realise she wasn't only good at building, but she really enjoyed it - "I'm a really outdoorsy person and being physical is something I really enjoy". After lots of thought and careful planning, Megan made the decision at the end of last year to go out building full-time. Leaving behind the safety of what she knew in the corporate world, for the unknown world of a self-employed tradesperson. So far, so good. Megan has had a steady flow of referral work, surprising herself with the number of jobs she has secured through her contacts and word of mouth around Rotorua. In particul

Posted 1 month ago

I don't know if this is too unusual of a request, but I'm looking for a LBP who is open to working with me, and tradespeople (electrician/plumber) I've arranged to carry out a bathroom renovation. There's some restricted work to be done, but nothing too major - removing some small walls, adding some ply for bracing. The largest bit I think would be adding a supporting beam in place of the walls to be removed. It's a fairly small span. There's the possibility we might need to engage an enginee...
