At the house entrance, the hardie board soffit lining has a reasonable crack in it which we are required to have fixed as a condition on sale of the house. We imagine that it could be repaired by installing a patch (on the roof side by removing tiles) to reinforce it, gluing it in place then sealing up the crack.
