Troy O’Donnell relocated to Christchurch from the North following the February 2011 earthquake and has since been proud to call Christchurch home.
“I moved down here and continued TBPL because I wanted to make a difference. After the earthquakes I felt I needed to put my building experience to good use and help with the rebuild. Relocating to Christchurch was one of the best decisions I ever made, and aside from meeting my partner Elise, I have fallen I love with Christchurch and its people.”
Troy was not the only one to fall in love with Christchurch. Shortly after, Troy’s parents Ken and Judy followed his lead and now reside in Governor’s Bay. Since moving to Christchurch, Ken and Judy have both become heavily involved in the family business.
Troy grew up in renovated houses and around construction sites. His father Ken, a project manager for 30 years, would take Troy to work in the holidays. Troy’s career started during these younger years as ‘senior quality controller’ of the Georgie Pie playgrounds and has since received many promotions.
As young as 10 years of age Troy was building tree houses with his older brother and his passion for construction has only continued to grow since.
“I knew from a very young age that I didn’t just want to be a builder… I wanted to be the best. I pride myself on my attention to detail and my passion for knowledge – these characteristics allow me to complete a project to the finest of qualities no matter the size or complexities involved.
Troy’s expertise includes a strong ability to envision a project before completion, resulting in the best finished product and a satisfied clientele. He enjoys working with his clients on smaller builds such as decks, right through to larger builds for instance architectural new builds and complete renovations.
