Auckland Plumbers For Fixing Drips, Installing Pipes And So Much More

We all know just how stinking hot Auckland can be in Summer (at least by New Zealand standards anyway). Of course it can get pretty darn cold in winter too! Definitely too cold to be swimming at Cheltenham beach. It’s more the kind of weather that makes you want to stand under a hot shower all day, every day.

However, if we want Auckland’s water usage to remain the lowest per capita in the country (good work Auckland) we probably shouldn’t make a habit of doing this! What we do want to make sure of though, particularly heading in to winter is that our hot water system is working! So who you gonna call?

Auckland Plumbers

Boasting more than one million people, and New Zealand’s biggest food court at Sylvia Park, you can be certain that there is always demand for hard working plumbers in Auckland!

However, there’s also an increasing amount of so called ‘handy man services’ getting around Auckland at the moment that will offer great prices and claim that they can fix anything, but be warned sometimes they are not actually certified to do the required job. It’s a nation wide requirement in New Zealand that all plumbers must have completed their national certificate in Plumbing (4 years) as well as be currently licenced for that trade.

This is why it’s always better to get any work, particularly plumbing, done by a qualified professional. All plumbing works are required by law to be carried out by a certified plumber. Exemptions to the rule include minimal tasks such as replacing washers and taps and hooking up washing machines to existing piping.

Plumbing jobs can vary a lot and can be as simple as unblocking your toilet, finding out where that mysterious water is coming from, installing complete piping systems for your home, fixing swimming pool water problems or even upgrading your hot water service.

The average hourly rate of plumbers in Auckland is $85 per hour, but it can still often be hard work finding a reliable plumber at that price, especially in an emergency.

Where to look

Thankfully Builderscrack has made finding a qualified plumber in Auckland a lot easier than it use to be! No more trying to scrawl down the contact number on the plumbers van in front of you at the traffic lights.

Builderscrack easily allows you to put up a job online to find the right plumber for you. Simply enter the job details, your suburb, any specifics required and when you need the work completed.

After that, all you have to do is sit back and have the qualified plumbers come to you. You can view their profiles, see whether they have good feedback and references. Most importantly though, you can request that they come out and inspect the job and provide you with a quote.

Stormwater pipe repair / upgrade

Posted 5 hours ago

We have old clay pipes collecting the stormwater from our property, and after investigating why our gutters were backing up, I've discovered a broken section of pipe and tree roots inside. I'd like to get this repaired and to get a better idea of the extent of the damage to the old pipes. I'd also be interested to discuss possible upgrades to our whole stormwater system, which I think was originally designed in the '50's....! The tricky thing about this job is that the damaged pipe is under o...

Hey team, We're looking for someone to help us install an outdoor shower / mixer beside our spa pool. In terms of getting hot and cold water to the area it should be nice and easy as our laundry is directly adjacent to the area we would like the shower to be installed. Not fussy about the pipes being hidden, we're just wanting to shower outside before and after the spa! Let me know if you have any questions, keen to get this done when we can. Thanks! Luke

Hot water cylinder misbehaving - Kingsland

Posted 1 day ago

I own a rental property (63F Third Ave, Kingsland). The tenants have said there is now only enough hot water for one shower a day, and that their power bill has gone up lately. It sounds like there is something wrong with the hot water cylinder. I suspect the cylinder would be at least 30 years old. My tenants are working from home at level 3, so access is no problem. I am best reached online initially in business hours since I tend to be in non-stop meetings are struggle to take calls.
