Christchurch Landscapers You Can't Do Without

Christchurch landscapers have done amazing work recreating our region’s gardens and public spaces since the devastating earthquakes.  Your backyard deserves the same level of care and attention too. Dreaming of a seamless indoor outdoor flow for entertaining friends? Want a fence built or trees planted to redefine your boundary again? Need retaining walls or an entire garden makeover? Our amazing landscapers can do all that and more.

Hiring the best Christchurch landscapers

Our landscapers are happy to travel from Lyttleton to Fendalton and everywhere in between. In fact you are more than likely to even have one living in your suburb. We have plenty of experienced and skilled landscapers available for hire within Christchurch just waiting for your job. List your garden landscaping job right now and let our tradies chase you!

Once you have started receiving interest and quotes for you job, it’s time to narrow down the selection to just one. Checking the testimonials here on our website left by other homeowners is a good place to start. Ask about what sort of similar jobs have they done before? Are you able to chat with their previous clients? Can you visit their previous work sites to check the quality of their finished work? Asking questions about their experience and qualifications is not being nosy, it’s smart.

Services provided by Christchurch landscapers

Canterbury landscapers have a large repertoire of services they can provide. Whether you need earthquake repair work for garden structures or a landscaping plan made, they do it all. There are three main landscaping categories their work falls under; landscape design, landscape construction and soft landscaping.

Landscape design is a specialised skill, most often requiring a tertiary qualification. With a scale plan made of your future garden, they let you see the start of your dream garden. A designer will have many discussions with you. They will use your ideas, wants and plant types, and then incorporate any existing features into their final design.

The actual building and digging happen during the landscape construction stage. Building a new deck and paving a patio or path also happens now. If you are wanting a retaining wall, your fence rebuilt or a water feature created, it’s all done here. Building raised vegetable gardens or laying weed mat and bark on garden beds are also common landscaping construction tasks.

Finally the soft landscaping is done. New bedding plants, hedges and shrubs are planted. Garden ornaments are positioned and Readylawn is laid. Your garden vision comes to fruition and it’s time to celebrate with some bubbles or a BBQ!

After everything we have been through over the past few years, Christchurch locals deserve to sit back and relax. Enjoying your newly landscaped property is just the ticket you need to do that. Today is the day to start giving your garden a magical makeover.  List your landscaping job right now at Builderscrack and let us do all the hard work for you.

Garden Revamp: How Chris and Rochelle Transformed This Small Space

There’s nothing like waking up to a gorgeous garden. That’s now the case for Chris and Rochelle, Auckland homeowners who made good use of their time throughout lockdown doing prep work for their garden redesign. It included plenty of digging and pulling-up, but there was one job left on their garden-scaping list that was a little too big to undertake themselves. The Problem The new design of the garden patch featured a structural garden bed which required a retaining wall, something that Rochelle says was too much for their skillset. “We knew we needed someone to do the last part of the job,” says Rochelle. The garden edging had previously been lined with bricks, but Rochelle was looking for a timber look. With an open mind and a flexible approach, she was hoping to bring the design to life by making the most of the existing area. The Solution Aside from seeking someone who had the skills to build the retaining wall, Rochelle also wanted someone with landscaping

Overgrown Patio to Contemporary Deck: How Lex Doubled His Living Space

Find out how this Christchurch homeowner transformed a ‘cold and unused’ area to create indoor-outdoor flow. Walking up the long driveway draws out my anticipation of two things: seeing just how much the backyard has changed, and whether I got everyone's coffees right. As I reach the back of the house I’m given a warm welcome by homeowner Lex, and following inquisitively behind is his kitten Naki – in Māori meaning ‘to glide’, and in Ngāi Tahu dialect, ‘cat’. Naki jumps up onto the newly finished deck as if to begin the grand tour, and I’m amazed – what a transformation! It’s completely reinvented the look and feel of this space. It’s not long before Ashraf joins us – he’s the tradesperson who got the job done with his teammate Conor. And after a few minutes of seeing Lex and Ashraf talking, it’s clear as to why this job went so well; there’s a lot of respect here. Ready for the project rundown and eager to sip our coffees, we take a seat at the modern stone table (whic

Why This Fence Gave One Christchurch Homeowner Peace of Mind

Backyard safety: a secure yard for the family.  Babysitting just got easier for Allana, a Christchurch homeowner who has regular visits from her little niece, and Allana’s parents and their dog, Joey. Having recently moved into her new property, Allana set out to ensure it met her family’s needs - and in this case, it meant having a secure yard. The Problem There were two parts to the problem: a small gap on one side of the house, and a privacy fence on the other made up of brick and greenery. While this landscape design added style to the property facade, the access to the road proved tricky to manage with two little ones on the go. The Solution With a fair idea in mind of what needed to be done, Allana posted her job on Builderscrack detailing the project scope. She was after a fencing solution that enhanced the backyard safety to allow peace of mind whenever they were in the backyard. Choosing a Tradie There were four tradies who were interested in the job,

Navigating Wet Lawns - One Family's Solution

Hiring Jared, from Firth Landscapes, for a few days work was the ideal solution to put an end to one family's soggy lawn crossings this winter...... The Job Liz needed a garden path extended. One already existed, but it stopped short of the lawn, which meant that every time anyone in her family went to the washing line, or woodshed, they had a stretch of often wet and muddy lawn to cross. Liz had the pavers to match her existing path, she had made the plan and measured up exactly where the path would go, all she needed was to find a willing tradie. The Solution It was during this search that she came across builderscrack.co.nz. She immediately liked the way only tradies interested in doing the job were presented to the homeowner. For Liz, who works full time, it meant she could cut out the time-consuming step of “cold-calling” tradies to see if they were even interested in her job. She decided to give this new way of finding a tradie ago, she posted her job, added
