Wellington Flooring Professionals Are Your Key To A Better Floor

If you currently have flooring that you need removed, either to bring back to life the surface underneath, or to recover it with something a little more modern, then you need to find a flooring contractor in Wellington to get the job done right.

When you’re living in the 12th best city in the world according to the Mercer Quality of Living survey, you’ll want to have quality flooring to match your lifestyle. If you live in Happy Valley, Northland, Shelly Bay, Karori or any other suburb in Wellington, you’ll be able to quickly find a professional floorer in your area by using Builderscrack.

What a floorer can do for you:

  • Floor removal
  • Floor restoration
  • Floor installation
  • Floor varnishing
  • Floor sanding
  • Floor polishing
  • Floorboard repair
  • Carpet laying
  • Carpet stretching and repair

Flooring experts work with all sorts of materials. These include hardwood, softwood, vinyl, mosaic, cork, laminate, concrete, stone, tile and lino (linoleum).

The cost:

If you’re looking at flooring removal in Wellington, the cost will vary. For 55 square metres of carpet and underlay removal the job will cost between $630 and $1,300. For the same amount of concrete flooring to be removed it will set you back between $3,900 and $9,200, as it is a more labour intensive job.

For new flooring installation, 55 square metres of carpet installation will cost you $2,100 to $7,800, for native hardwood it will be between $5,200 and $9,700, and tile between $6,000 and $12,800. The cost all depends on the material processes and the time taken to lay the flooring.

For flooring repairs, it will all depend on the size of the area and the condition of the surface.

Time taken to complete the job:

Most flooring jobs will take a few days to a week to complete, depending on the size of the flooring area. Spot repairs should be finished within a day. For a whole house flooring job it may take up to two weeks, sometimes more, depending on the materials your contractor will be working with.

For varnishing of floorboards or wooden surfaces you will have to factor in drying time, which may take a few extra days. Getting your flooring done may mean that you may need to move out of your home into temporary accommodation while the job is completed.

How to create your ad on Builderscrack:

Include in your ad a description that covers everything you’d like the flooring tradie to do and know. Include pictures of your current flooring situation as well as measure out how large the space that you want to work on is.

Once your ad is up on the site, you will have flooring specialists contacting you. For a succinct quote, have them come out to your house to give you the full cost of what the flooring works are going to be. To ensure you get the best bang for your buck get a few quotes before you settle on the contractor you want to go with for the job.
