Outsourcing Housework Freed Up Precious Time For This Busy Homeowner

Busy homeowner Michelle holds down parenting, full-time work and studying towards her PhD. She shares with us how she used Builderscrack to outsource her housework so she could focus on the important stuff... How It Started To say Michelle is a driven person is an understatement. Sitting across from a woman that packs so much into her days is inspiring, not only because of that drive but the clever way she has arranged her life to make it possible. She tells me "I’m doing a full-time PhD and I’m doing full-time work, so for me, I have lots to do and absolutely no time. I also have a teenager who’s almost 16, who is extremely social. Every weekend there are at least five to seven friends invited, and they are having a sleepover. I come home, and I'm like, “I left it nice and tidy, what happened?”.  Michelle and her son moved into their home three years ago, and with a laugh explains “how things were starting to fall apart and in need of repair”. It wasn't only hard finding the tim

Garden Maintenance - one off

Posted 1 year ago

I have two road frontage borders which have established trees and agapanthus in them. They also have very old weed mat, what remains of bark (probably from last century) and a goodly number of weeds. I want to get the weeds removed, the borders re-weedmated and new bark put over the top to make them a lot lower maintenance. I want to keep the agapanthus and established trees and bushes so will be a weedmat-around-existing-stuff job.

I would also like to extend that hedgerow to cover the front of the property, so that it followed the garden fence, approx 30m. The ground is clear and flat, so the quote would be to prep and plant the hedgerows. If an additional quote for creating a boardered bed for the hedge, filled with either bark or gravel...

The job is to scrape and level the ground for the fake grass to go on - approx 6m x 6m, and lay pavers on newly created pathways, adding some pea gravel between the spaces. There is a green waste dump five minutes from the site, so disposal of any dirt / weeds is very easy.
