About

My name is Kahu Hokianga and I am the Director of MK HOKIANGA CONSTRUCTION LTD based in the Porirua area.

I have been in the building and construction industry in the Wellington region for 30 years. I became a qualified builder in the year 2000 working for NK Henderson Builders. I continued my building career in commercial contracts under companies such as Fletchers, Mainzeal, Hawkins, and Holmes Construction before working and moving into residential builds for smaller build companies.

I changed career paths by moving into site management as a Site Supervisor for Hawkins Construction, where I remained for 6 years in that role. I missed the tools and made a decision to move back into building work, where I was a foreman in charge of overseeing and running small building crews.

Currently I have two qualified builders (including myself), two 4-year building apprentices (nearing sign-out) and two labourers/hammer hands. I have the connections and ability to increase my labour team as projects demand. As I am a new business, I am currently going through the process of obtaining my LBP license and site wise to meet job site requirements.

My preference and specialty field is in carpentry however not limited to, and open to discussion on other types of construction work.

I have built a solid reputation in the building construction industry during my time and I pride myself on honesty and integrity. It is very important to me to meet the expectations of a client by producing quality work results.
