Weatherboard sealing

Posted 1 month ago

Can you, please, help us? We"ve got a house with cedar weatherboards, in Lowry Bay, facing west; built in 1982. The front of the house is exposed to strong sun and southerly winds. The problem: the cedar weatherboard have warped in the sun, so rain gets under them in a strong southerly, blows along to a tall, narrow window in the western face, and runs down inside the wall. It doesn?t happen very often (only during horizontal rain at a particular angle), but clearly, it is something that has to...

New Corrugated Iron has been fitted. Has stumped 3 builders now. Need someone to engineer a solution or prevent water from coming in. Need solutions.

Shower Channel Waterproofing/Membrane Fix & Rectify

Posted 5 months ago

We have just purchased a new house, and after noticing the channel drain grate wasn't sitting right we pulled it out to find a bit of an issue! The membrane has cracked, with the substrate also cracking and lifting in places. We need the damaged material removed, and new substrate and waterproof membrane fitted to the channel by an expert to ensure that the water is kept in the channel and out the drain as intended (so no lingering damage can come of this issue). thanks

Sealing two exterior windows

Posted 5 months ago

We have two exterior widows that need sealing better. I'm sorry for the poor illustrations in the photos. Marked in blue is where sealing needs to be updated so this should be relatively an easy job but they are on the 2nd level . A ladder can be set up on a bank to reach the windows. This job should not take more than an hour. I can provide a sealant(MS) and ladder(please do bring your ladder if you would like to). $50? Preferably on a weekend, and I can help also.

Tiny leak from vicinity of inner shower pan, or behind shower liner, onto outer shower pan is causing gib board to get damp/wet. We are going to market shortly, and would like this problem sorted. We have been told it may require total replacement of liner.. and that it is probably caused through insufficient sealant being applied behind the liner at time of installation several years ago. Disappointing.. well outside of warranty period. Annoyed but need to get it sorted.
