Install Retractable Outdoor Sun Shade

Posted 4 months ago

Installation of a 2m x 3m retractable outdoor sun shade required on the back deck of a townhouse situated in Houghton Bay, Wellington. Please note the attachment of the mechanism will have to be to the retaining wall / fence. (It cannot be attached to the monolithic cladding of the house.) I have attached photos of the sun shade and the location for it. Unfortunately, this program doesn't allow the attachment of PDF files - so if you would like a copy of the full Installation Manual, please dro...

Posted 2 years ago

Require help with ascertaining the correct shape and size waterproof shade sail to install on section, as well as the installation of sail - will likely need to install posts to attach to also. Would be looking for this to be done with urgency. Have previously put a temporary sail up (measured 5 x 5) but not sustainable in Welly weather - need done to withstand all weathers.

Two shade sails

Posted 1 year ago

Advise on how to best place the sails, measure, quote, supply and fit two shade sails. One sail to go on the lower deck between three existing posts. The other to replace the umbrella as shown in the photo as it’s sometimes too windy for the umbrella on the upper deck. This spot doesn’t have three places to attach a sail so may need a little more figuring out. Ideally start as soon as possible and finish over the next few weeks.

We have a decking area approx 3m x 5m that we would like to put some cover over for both rain and UV protection. There is already some structure in place as you can see from the photos. We are thinking a shade sail might work but not sure what the best solution is so need someone who can provide some ideas and options.

Shade sail posts and installation

Posted 5 years ago

We plan on getting a 5m x 3m rectangular shade sail over our deck, and need it set up. Two corners will fix to our house (to wooden framing through weatherboards - we already have eyelets for scaffolding, which could work for one corner). The other two corners will need posts fitted to the wooden retaining wall that forms the other side of our deck. Please include timber and bolt costs in quote. We haven't bought the sail or fixings yet.

Shading solution for overheating rooms

Posted 4 years ago

We have two northwest-facing rooms (about 9 and 16 sqm) in our Tawa home that get far too hot in summer - up to 30 degrees. We would like to find a solution that will reduce the heat gain so that the rooms remain at a more comfortable temperature without us having to use air conditioning. The rooms are also uncomfortably glarey. We are thinking about options such as shade sails, awnings, blinds etc. We're looking for anyone that may have a suitable solution and can advise and quote.

New shade sail

Posted 2 years ago

Hi, We're looking to install a canvas shade sail in cream or beige above our deck. It would be a right angle triangle, with the two sides which would attach to the house being 325 cm & 250cm. Our understanding is that due to the shape, we couldn't just install any of the commercially available ones, and will require it specially made. We'd like a price for construction and installation. Cheers Andrew Miller

Fix awning over door

Posted 3 years ago

Replacement or fixing awning over front door. Current awning has corrugated plastic sheeting on a painted wooden frame. The plastic has spilt and lifted with the wind & sun (see photo). Minimum option would be to replace plastic but will consider options for a new frame if current frame is in bad condition. Prefer transparent cover to let in light.
