◊ Project Management:
SBL will manage the whole project from start to finish – anything from a small adjustment on a door, a new house or something in between!
SBL can organise any sub-contractors required, set up a work schedule, order all materials and dispose of any waste.
SBL will send a final quote to include all work, sub-contractors, material and fees.
Once the work is carried out and all the payments are received, all relevant documents (guarantee, Code of Compliance, etc…) will be provided.
The NZ Building Code will be applied as standard to all work undertaken and you have a 10 year guarantee on the work.
◊ Alteration
With a qualified German carpenter being the head of SBL the carpentry work will be carried out by SBL to the highest standards.
If the need for more manpower arises, SBL will supervise the work completely using only known and trusted tradesman.
SBL has a qualified draftsman, so reading and drawing plans can be done through SBL. It is very helpful in case there are any inaccuracies in a plan. Experience in both trades make it a matter of course to respond professionally and immediately to any challenge arising.

◊ Light Commercial / Interior Fitouts:
Working according to an agreed schedule is naturally very important on a building site.
SBL will ensure all work is undertaken according to the schedule.
The whole project management will be managed directly by SBL.
The NZ Building Code will be applied as standard to all work undertaken and you have a 10 year guarantee on the work.
There are different types of building contracts possible:
• full build: means SBL arranges everything. You don’t have to do a thing.
• labour only: means, you supply the materials and SBL does the work.
• cost reimbursement: means, work is completed on an hourly rate plus cost of materials

Christian Sommer is the director of Sommer Buildings Ltd. and owns the company since 2007.
He lived and learned in Germany and it was here where he became a qualified draftsman in 1998. After 2 years working with Baumann GmbH he decided to follow his interest in carpentry and became an apprentice.
In 2003 he became a qualified carpenter.
In Germany he worked with a company which renovated historically listed buildings, restored roof structures and did alterations in general. He had the opportunity to work in a broad field of very different carpentry tasks.
The decision to move to Ireland came with the urge to gain different and international experiences.
The company he worked with in Ireland is specialised in luxury wooden staircases and Christian became one of their most competent fitter. This kind of work was close to the joinery trade and he gained valuable knowledge to extend his craftsmanship.
After the move to New Zealand in 2006 he first worked for Quinns Workforce and later for Deanz Interior. Not long after his initial work experience in Wellington did Christian decide to start his own company.
