Hi, I am an NZ Certifying Drainlayer with 10 years hands-on experience in residential Drainage. I specialize in sewer and stormwater repairs and relays, as well as surface water control. I can also repair burst water pipes or leaking waste pipes. I take pride in my tidy work and clear communication. This client was having issues with water pooling near the back door, due to badly formed concrete pathways. We agreed the best option was a new channel drain through the low spot, connecting to an existing cesspit. The client was really happy with the result and using the existing infrastructure we were able to keep the costs down.

Front Entrance Drainage

This client had water pooling near the front door, making the concrete green and slippery and the nearby gardens a muddy mess. We dug-out all the mud, installed new coil drains and a cesspit to catch the water run-off, and connected everything to the existing stormwater. We completed the job by filling in the drainage trench with scoria, then covering with river stones for a nice tidy finish. The area is now dry and creates a nice landscaped feature at the front entrance.

Raise Sewer Gully Traps

This client received a request from Auckland Council to raise the height of the two gully traps to stop surface water entering the sewer system. As both were in concrete I recommended installing to new risers to avoid a costly concrete cutting job. The new D shaped risers fit around the top of the old gully dish's and are sealed with cement mortar to keep out the surface water. I installed two new aluminum grates to complete the upgrade. This was a really cost effective way to comply with councils requirements.

New Channel Drain across Garage

This client was concerned about water run off from the driveway and they wanted to install a Channel Drain to "flood proof" the garage. We discussed the best layout and how the finished job should look, I was able to provide several options for the Channel grates and the client chose to go with these really smart looking Galvanized Steel ones. We opted not to try to color match the existing concrete and keep the new concrete to a narrow strip around the channels. The client was pleased with the finished product and can now have peace of mind next time it rains!
