Hi everyone
I’m Andy, I run my small Mckenna building services business, here in Dunedin, it’s just me, a reliable, honest, trustworthy and people person, I love helping locals renovate and repair their properties, not only is it a great way to meet people and make connections, it’s a great way to make people’s dream projects come true, or help them repair something that’s keeping them awake at night.
I’m new to social media and Builders Crack but not to building, I’ve been in the trade for 25 years, so I may not have as many jobs or credits as others on here but it’s worth having a chat with me to discuss your projects.

Staircase upgrade
Client wanted to restore timber treads back to native timber, add a screen and handrail to the stairs, and finish the underside of the stairs with a bookshelf. The bookshelves were custom made along with the handrail, the timber used was Beech hardwood for the battens and handrail, which the battens were painted and handrail was clear sealed. The original risers were plywood so i sourced Rimu veneers to keep the treads and risers the same. The finished result was fantastic both myself and the client were very happy
Rental Property renovation
A property with serious neglect, water damage, and serious rot. I was originally asked to tidy up the bathroom and replaced weatherboards where needed. After further inspection I noticed water under the house which was a huge factor into the rot and damp issues. I ended up pulling the side of the house down, and rebuilding it, was a great rewarding project within the clients budget.
