Saint Heliers yard conversion
These lovely clients came to us wanting to better utilise their backyard, the old setting had uneven bricks laid and the area was quite susceptible to heavy water and puddling. It made sense to part retain the area to create level usable platforms, the water required some land drains to be installed, the finished platform hardwood decking – the most user friendly. The job had plenty of challenges with bad weather, large tree roots and tough ground. However we got the job done working with our clients keeping them in close communication as we progressed. The space is a huge upgrade on the previous area and the clients love entertaining in this space.
Saint Heliers Re-Clad
The clients of this awesome 70's home were wanting to refresh the 50 year old child, and give it the functionality of a modern day home whilst not changing the appearance. The thorough team at Mercer and Mercer architects went about the design in such a way to achieve this as best possible. This involved new double glazed Aluminium joinery with Rimu jamb liners to keep with the interior feel. New insulated colour steel roof. New timber sheet cladding with battens on a cavity to replicate the old pine board and batten cladding that had passed its used by date. In addition to the refresh of the main house, a new 4.5m square pool was added with a beautiful "A" frame outdoor Logia using cedar battens on the underside as decorative and functional touch, the glass of the logia tinted grey to help prevent a sweat on these sunnies days of recent. The very open plan outdoor area finished nicely with glass balustrades to keep the little ones out. Nice flowing steps inviting you from the front door after a busy day at work straight into the refreshing water of the pool.
Parnell Renovation
This project is one of our biggest residential renovations to date. There was extensive work throughout including an extension to the footprint of the house to enlarge the media room and forth bedroom. Complete re-clad with new Alaskan Yellow Cedar, complete re-roof with new 450 Euro tray roofing. New thermally broken top of the range joinery. Also thorough exterior works including a refurbished pool and landscaping around it with decks, stairs and gardens. A new entrance to the house with a timber pergola and glass roof, lovely planting throughout. A feature copper gate and garage door to add some flare to the entrance elevation of the house. Nothing was spared with solar panels and battery system installed, automation throughout the house. This is a house truly done to the highest of standards.
