I selected this vendor because they were in my suburb; seemed to be competent and were affordable. That was 6 months ago. Assessment and quote was quick. And then deafening silence. It seems it was my job to keep asking them when they'd start. Each time the same answer - we'll contact you. Today I discovered they 've closed the job. "SOS" contacted very soon after placing job and responded quickly to queries. Came on site to discuss when agreed. Price not the lowest but past reports and discussion lead to selection. (hence '4' on price) Job done quickly and end result as agreed. A very minor issue was corrected very promptly. Work done by owner operator and concrete placers.

Very strongly not recommended. Was engaged to advise on the construction of a retaining wall and put us wrong right from the start. Advised us that Building/Resource Consent would not be required when it would have been obvious to them that it was. The work that was done was poor and the wall could not possibly have met the Building regs. Lucky that we parted ways before they had the chance to finish something that would have failed very quickly. Has cost us a small fortune to put it right.

New Driveway

Quoted quickly, then 3 mths from acceptance to pour. Had strange delineation down side of garage (ph 1) 6 mths later (ph 2-3). Cracks after a few days, 7 mths to fix (ph 4-5). Gap down fence for fibre and said would fill - horrible (ph 1, 4). Apparently got free path - slopes to house, drain a mess and is 10 cm above ground level (ph 10-11) hideous. Last photo was what I was sent as to what finish would be and accepted based on this. But is hideous, hate it - wish I could rip it out.
