EDIT - We ended up receiving an apology and an offer of a discount from GWTF if we proceeded with the work. We did go ahead, and they did a great job, identified a different cause for our issues and the rest of the experience has been really good. It was unfortunate there was miscommunication initially but they did make an effort to resolve our grievance, and the actual work they did was great quality. We originally requested a quote/investigation into water issues at our house. They recommended CCTV of drainage, which was quoted in person to be around $200 so we booked it in. On the day of CCTV footage we were impressed by how helpful they were and were highly considering going through with the job. We were told it would be about 1 days work and got a quote back for $4600. We then received an invoice of $870 for the CCTV footage, which was very unexpected. When queried they amended it to $500, which is still more than we were quoted. It turned out to be $200 per hour, plus GST, with time including time on site, travel, video upload etc. I highly recommend getting any prices in writing before proceeding, as it wasn't made clear in person. We don't plan to go ahead with them for the repair work as they have lost our trust. It makes you wonder what is in the repair quote, as it wasn't itemised by labour and material costs. Reply: Hi Karl, as mentioned to you, we are unable to provide quotes for investigation CCTV camera work, as it would be hard to determine how long this process would take, without knowing for certain what the cause was. We accept that we initially made an error with the invoicing as there was a breakdown of communication with the trades team offering you the drainage special and not relaying this to the office, which we apologise for and we amended the error right away. We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our service, but we stand by our pricing, as $200.00 + GST per hour for 2 two team members and the CCTV camera is excellent value for money.
