Heavy Vehicle Yard Remediation

This project involved the full remediation of a heavily deteriorated truck yard, replacing potholed asphalt with a 150 mm thick, 30 MPa reinforced concrete pavement built to withstand constant heavy vehicle traffic. With over 200 m³ of concrete placed, the project was highly time-critical. The site needed to remain operational throughout construction, requiring careful staging to maintain truck access while excavation, base preparation, and concrete works were underway. The client had a strict deadline, with the new pavement needing to be cured and back in service within five business days. Through detailed planning, close coordination, and efficient execution, we successfully met the programme and returned the site to full operation on time. Following the success of this project, we completed a similar heavy-duty pavement replacement in Tauranga, placing a further 140 m³ of concrete under even tighter access constraints. Cost-Effective Partial Driveway Replacement & Drainage Repair

The owner had recently purchased the property and quickly discovered recurring sinkholes appearing in both the yard and driveway after heavy rain. Following an investigation, we found multiple stormwater pipes that were blocked, cracked, and broken, allowing water to wash away the ground beneath the driveway. After repairing the damaged drainage in the yard, we excavated beneath the affected section of driveway to replace the failed pipework. Rather than replacing the entire driveway, we recommended a targeted partial replacement, rebuilding only the damaged end section. While carrying out the works, we widened the driveway entrance, creating a more practical and accessible parking area without the cost of a full replacement. The result was a durable, cost-effective solution that eliminated the drainage issues, prevented further sinkholes, and improved the property's functionality. Working with the homeowner, who is a qualified builder, meant there were no shortcuts taken—just a practical, high-quality remedial solution completed to a professional standard.

Retaining Wall & Site Stabilisation

This site started as an absolute mud pit, with extremely poor ground conditions and very restricted access, making the project particularly challenging. Our scope of work included drilling 3.5-metre-deep post holes, installing large timber retaining posts, concreting the foundations, and constructing the retaining wall. We then reused the excavated spoil to regrade and level the section, improving the site's overall usability while minimising waste. To ensure long-term performance, we installed drainage behind the retaining wall to relieve groundwater pressure and improve ground stability. The area was then prepared and compacted, providing a solid foundation ready for the client's future patio and landscaping plans. Despite the tight access and difficult conditions, the project was completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, transforming an unusable muddy area into a stable, functional outdoor space.
