Heavy Vehicle Yard Remediation

Project description

This project involved the full remediation of a heavily deteriorated truck yard, replacing potholed asphalt with a 150 mm thick, 30 MPa reinforced concrete pavement built to withstand constant heavy vehicle traffic.

With over 200 m³ of concrete placed, the project was highly time-critical. The site needed to remain operational throughout construction, requiring careful staging to maintain truck access while excavation, base preparation, and concrete works were underway.

The client had a strict deadline, with the new pavement needing to be cured and back in service within five business days. Through detailed planning, close coordination, and efficient execution, we successfully met the programme and returned the site to full operation on time.

Following the success of this project, we completed a similar heavy-duty pavement replacement in Tauranga, placing a further 140 m³ of concrete under even tighter access constraints.
