Liverton Road New Build

Nestled discreetly into the picturesque landscape and overlooking the rolling hills of Kelson, this home is a peaceful rural sanctuary. The Tim Lucas Construction team worked closely with the owners and architect to bring this forever home to life. Perched at the edge of a gully and situated on a former quarry, the site presented some interesting challenges. Extensive work was put into the foundations of this home to ensure it was rock solid. We clad the exterior in a harmonious blend of iron and Abodo weatherboards for a modern but timeless look with enhanced durability. Inside, warm timber floors create visual continuity throughout the living spaces. A striking feature of this home is the magnificent 10-metre-long stacker door that seamlessly connects the interior with an expansive deck, for effortless indoor to outdoor flow. Vaulted ceilings add to the airy spaciousness of the house. At the heart of the home is an open-plan living area featuring a bespoke kitchen, sunken living room, and double-sided fireplace. The bathroom features floor-to-ceiling windows with expansive views across lush countryside from the bathtub. We were delighted to present the owners with a tranquil and elegant sanctuary they could cherish for a lifetime.

Dublin Street New Build Villa

Nestled on the outskirts of Martinborough, this quaint new villa build looks as if it has always been there. The site for this project presented some interesting challenges, being both short on space and located in a flood zone. It required careful consultation and design to come up with a solution that would solve both issues. The choice of a sturdy raised timber pile foundation not only addressed the flood issue, but added to the period charm of the property, with an enticing veranda gracing the entrance to the home. Inside, rustic wooden floors, tongue and groove panelling, colonial trims and decorative archways all evoke the essence of the early 1900s. A turret-style sitting room captures the sun at the rear of the home. This new villa build is a harmonious blend of the past and present, encompassing all the features of a period style home while offering all the comforts of modern materials and technology. It stands as a testament to thoughtful planning, meticulous execution, and the enduring appeal of a villa.

Bungalow Renovation

Sitting in the hills of Wellington, this 1930s bungalow was given new life. The Tim Lucas Construction team worked with Vorstermans Architects to carry out an extensive high-end renovation which included a complete interior and exterior overhaul. It was a delight to completely transform this unassuming bungalow into a sleek, modern home. Natural wooden tones featured extensively throughout this renovation, not only on the floors but also the doorframes, cabinetry, shelving, and ensuite vanity. Some of the ceiling was lined with Joubert Gaboon plywood to add interest. The master bedroom was given a new, fully tiled ensuite with clean, modern fixtures. Maximising the use of space, a wardrobe was converted to an office. In the main living area, we installed a whole new kitchen, again featuring natural wood for the cabinets and a large kitchen island. At the other end of the room, we added an expansive picture window to make the most of the stunning views over Wellington harbour, with wrap-around shelving for additional storage. It was exciting to see the transformation of this space unfold and to give new life to this almost-century-old property.
