find source of leak in roof and fix

a long term leak in a converted garage attached garage now master bedroom. leaking properly with current heavy rain. only leaks when rain and wind coming from a certain direction. main house has acromatic sp?! tiles on a 1978 unit. but directly above leak is flat corrugated iron. has been fixed various times over the years. may finally need re roofing - would prefer that not to be the case but it may be what is needed i don;t know. am worried part of ceiling where leak is may cave in.
