There is mould growing in my sitting room ceiling. A very nice man from Right House inspected the house today and he recommended that I first try removing it and re-painting with sealant/mould inhibitor paint. If this doesn't work, the roof may have to be lifted (it's a flat roof) so that insulation can be placed there. I don't want to get too close and personal with the mould as I have respiratory allergies and it already affects me. So I'd like to hear from anyone who is able to scrub off the mould and re-paint the ceiling with appropriate paint. A while ago I had the hall ceiling re-painted (no mould problems there) and re-wallpapered. If the sitting room ceiling work should involve major moving of furniture (I don't know whether it would, or whether it can just be covered over or whatever) I would look at having the sitting room re-wallpapered at the same time. If not, I think I'd rather leave the re-wallpapering a while. I've added a photo ... though it's not too easy to photograph mould on a white ceiling. I'll be available on Friday July 8 but will almost certainly be away from home for a few days next week, so if you don't hear back from me immediately it won't be out of lack of interest.

Very pleased with the work done by Terry and his two staff - I'm sorry I can't recall your names, guys. The ceiling looks good and hopefully the mould will stay away. It's great to have it done and you did a good job.
