Light fitting and hot water cylinder check

Hi We had a large wired-in light fitting shake itself off the kitchen ceiling on 23 December and we would like it a) checked for safety (i.e., are there any loose and dangerous wires in behind what's left) and b) some options of how it could be replaced (see photo of what's left). Also our hot water cylinder appears to be a bit dodgy too. We would like to find out if the element and thermostat are doing their job, or whether ripple control is not giving it long enough to heat up at night.

Log burner flue problem

We had a new Woodsman log burner installed 6 years ago and it intermittently smokes around the door upon lighting the fire. It seems the draw is not going up the flue properly. We would like somebody to sort this problem out for us as while it doesn't happen every time it is still very frustrating and unpleasant to have a room full of smoke.

Chimney removal

chimney has severed immediately below roof level. there is approx 1.5 mtrs above roof level and the roof is comparatively flat and the chimney is in the middle of the roof.chimney should probably be removed down to ceiling level but that can be discussed. billing is to EQC.

Log-Burner Removal and new installation

We are wanting to remove the existing log burner we have in our lounge and replace with a new ECAN approved log burner in time for winter next year. We are also wanting to upgrade the heat transfer system we currently have to one that will vent into each of our three bedrooms. Earthquake chimney reinforcement

Thanks to all who showed interest in this job. I have had independant advice that this chimney is too cracked to secure and needs to be removed. Therefore I have put this job on hold while I explore my financial options I have a double pot chimney with a log-burner flue running through it and minor cracking and would like it quakesafed/reinforced with steel angles and bracing or such. Thanks.
