Lower level of two-story 1940's home on a Wellington hill is being renovated by ex-tradie owner. I need to re-build two SHS columns (they are currently about 2000cm, new ones need to be about 2500mm) which will be footed on new reinforced concrete blocks. I am going to do all the labour and source the materials, but I need someone experienced with repiling/columns to review the work, due the the structural nature and the undeniable potential for the building to collapse during the renovation. This is less than 10 hours of consulting work over a span of a few weeks and a straightforward job. Architectural plans are consented. Hours are flexible--preference for afternoons / evenings/ weekends.
