Piling for new house and deck

Job description

House Piling
Wellington

Published: 3 March 2016

I require the piling for a new house, including deck and retaining wall. Involves boring holes, 'owning' the inspection, placing the piles and concrete. The house house is 72m2 and requires 13 ordinary piles, 3 anchor piles and 14 braced piles. The deck (some is over 1.5m above fgl) requires another 18 ordinary piles. The retaining wall (10-15m long, up to 1.5m high) requires 10-15 piles. Involves restricted building work in the 'foundations' area. The house is a kit set and will be built by the kit provider. The foundation work is being tendered separately due to the builder being out of town and foundations differing from their Multiproof (our site slopes and I want a car park underneath). I engaged my architect to do the design work for the site excavation and foundations and will provide the architectural drawings to interested contractors. The site is gently-sloping, will be scraped and cut (see below), has good access, and will have electricity. No bearers or joists or associated fixings are necessary for this job. Include all expenses (including the purchase of the piles, bracing, associated fixings and concrete) in your quote. I will select a contractor to perform the work and negotiate a time suitable. The work can't start right away, as I am still lining up some other dependencies). I am also listing other jobs separately but mention them here in case same contractor wishes to bid for others: 1. "Excavate site for new house": Involves scraping and cutting gently sloping building site so it is ready for piling and retaining. 2. "Building deck and access stairs": Will involve restricted work, so LBP essential to build or supervise. Also interested to pay for LBP to supervise me to build it.
