I have been asked by EQC to provide a quote for repair of a cracked carport slab. The crack crosses the carport and there is an increased slope to the front of the crack due to subsidence. The slab needs to be cut behind the damaged area and removed and relaid level in front of the cut. Must be able to provide a written quote that meets EQC requirements: • The quote must detail the location and extent of the damage, along with its estimated cost to repair • If the quote contains damage not recorded by the Earthquake Commission (EQC) Scope of Works, it must state that the damage is earthquake-related, and be accompanied by comprehensive photographs showing the location and extent of the additional damage • The quote must include the GST number of the contractor who provides it • The quote must be on the contractor’s letterhead • The quote must be GST inclusive • The quote must contain a breakdown of repair costs, including the cost per square metre of each repair strategy, and the measurements of the damaged areas • The photographs must clearly show the extent of the damage, as well as its location in the building.
