Job description

Footpaths
Christchurch

Published: 1 November 2021

We require someone to concrete an area (includes a reinforced pad, plus footpath area) and install a surface drain. This job runs down the side of our house. This is a project that I started but am unable to finish as I am just not able to complete due to various time constraints. So: -Most form work is completed and most soil removed. A little bit of remaining concrete needs removing and probably a little soil, but not much. You are NOT able to get an excavator to this. -One small area will be a pad for a pizza oven and I have already put in the sub-coarse for this but it will need a little more compaction. I have the reinforcing mesh for that pad. -Once last concrete removed, it needs the sub-coarse laying and a surface drain set that will be connected to the stormwater. We have purchased the surface drain sections and will talk with tradie about any other parts required for connecting to stormwater. -Given the long skinny nature of the job and the surface drain then putting concrete in by wheel barrow will be challenging and suggest a small concrete pump arrangement would work best. -The site does have a heat pump on it but prior to starting I will arrange for this to be removed and probably bolted to the foundation, thus up off ground. There are also gas bottles on the concrete and again we will remove them for access during work. -We would like to have it done this side of Christmas, if any work is done between Tuesday and Friday (or weekends) it is possible that I am able to assist as a 'pair of hands' under your direction if this is practical. Three photos attached. 1: Shows the area for the pizza oven pad, currently has semi-compacted coarse covered by some black plastic (with the odd swan plant on top) 2:Shows the area of concreting adjacent to the pizza pad, this has been formed along the side, you can see the main area of concrete that needs breaking out adjacent to the current steps 3: Looking down the length of house past heat pump to gas bottles at end. THe surface drain will need to go from the edge of the pizza pad all the way down to where the gas bottles are as the storm water comes down from the house there, There is a convenient pipe to joint it to.
