Weatherproofing of tiled roof, 1 storey at front, 3 at rear

Posted 10 years ago

My house has a 1950s clay-tiled roof. Due to the quake, many of these have slid off and the roof is no longer weatherproof. Section is on a slope (Cashmere hills) is 1 storey high at front and 3 stories high at rear. The tarps I've been using keep being torn/shredded by the tiles' sharp edges and I can't do the job single-handed or access the whole roof with my (short-ish) ladder. Anyone willing to quote and do the job (maybe an EQC approved temp fix < $2k)?

Gasfitter/Metal fabricator for unique project

Posted 10 years ago

It would be preferred that we have someone that is certified in gas and also can work with steel and stainless. The project is building 2 pieces: #1 is the kettle that will have a large stainless bowl sitting inside a large steel box with a gas system to heat the stainless bowl. (I can source the stainless bowl if its an issue.) It sits on roller wheels so it can be moved and also has hinged end so that the kettle korn can be dumped out into the sifter. #2 is the sifter which is a anothe...

Handyman with building skills

Posted 10 years ago

Am wanting a skilled person to do a range of small jobs in my new downtown Auckland apartment with easy access and parking. Whilst I will deal directly with the curtaining and carpeting suppliers, I would prefer to deal directly with one person for the other tasks that need doing. That way, the whole key/security access/parking issue relevant to an apartment, will be much easier. * The kitchen is sadly lacking in storage and food prep space. I would like a built in cabinet (with worktop) in fr...
