Bathroom Leak Repair & Subfloor Reconstruction

Water damage and mould staining caused by shower waterproofing failure.
Water damage and mould staining caused by shower waterproofing failure.

Project description

This project began with water staining and damage appearing on the ceiling below an upstairs bathroom. Investigation identified a failed shower waterproofing system as the source of the leak.
Rather than carrying out a temporary repair, we managed the entire remediation process from initial investigation through to final reinstatement.
The project included:
Leak investigation and damage assessment
Removal of affected flooring and wall linings
Structural inspection of the subfloor framing
Installation of additional framing support and nogs
Replacement of damaged flooring with H3.2 treated structural plywood
Coordination of plumbing repairs
Installation of moisture-resistant wall linings
Joint stopping and plaster preparation
Waterproofing membrane installation
Coordination of tiling and finishing trades
Final reinstatement and project completion
Particular attention was given to ensuring the repair addressed not only the visible damage but also the underlying structural and moisture issues to provide a durable long-term solution.
Throughout the project we coordinated all trades involved, providing the homeowner with a single point of contact and ensuring the work progressed efficiently from investigation through to completion.
