🏗️ Another challenging foundation repair successfully completed – this time in Mount Roskill! 🏡
A fantastic result for Bob in Mount Roskill, with the CCS team completing a comprehensive foundation repair that included foundation underpinning to depths of up to 2.5 metres below ground level, followed by a house relevelling.
This project required more than a standard relevel. Due to the poor underlying ground conditions, the existing foundations could no longer provide the level of support required for the home. When ground is weak or has experienced movement over time, simply replacing piles isn't always enough. That's where underpinning comes in.
Underpinning involves extending the foundations down to stronger, more stable ground, transferring the weight of the home onto material capable of providing long-term support. It's one of the most effective methods of stabilising homes that have experienced settlement or are built on challenging soils.
For this project, the team installed SEDs and steel reinforcement cages within the underpinning system, adding significant structural strength and durability to the new foundations. This ensures the home is supported by a robust foundation system designed to perform well into the future.
As this was a consented repair, collaboration was key. We worked closely with ProConsult throughout the project to ensure every stage met the engineering requirements and council expectations. A huge thank you to the team at ProConsult for their expertise and support in delivering another successful outcome.
A special mention also goes to Southeys Hydrovac, whose specialist hydro excavation equipment enabled the team to safely remove the final metre of material from the deeper underpinning holes. Their assistance was invaluable in helping us reach the required founding depth while maintaining a safe and efficient worksite.
