Project description

laundry renovation in Hastings showcases how thoughtful design and quality joinery can transform a compact utility area into a highly functional and visually refined space.
The upgrade features full‑height cabinetry built right up to the ceiling, fitted with bifold doors for smooth access and maximum storage. Inside, a dedicated vacuum cleaner compartment with a built‑in power point sits alongside shelving designed for tall appliances and everyday household items. Additional overhead cabinets provide valuable storage for items used less frequently.
Adjacent to the tall cabinetry, a custom laundry bench was installed, complete with a single base cabinet featuring two push‑to‑open doors. This keeps ironing essentials neatly tucked away while maintaining a clean, uncluttered look. Above the bench, a hanging rail offers a practical space for drying or organising clothing straight from the dryer or after ironing.
All cabinetry was finished in Shou Sugi from the Laminex range — a bold, modern colour that the customers absolutely loved. The finish ties the entire space together, giving the laundry a contemporary, cohesive feel.
This project highlights how well‑planned joinery can elevate both the functionality and style of a home’s everyday spaces.
