Hi, we are Tom (builder) and Alice (designer) a Christchurch born couple with a shared passion for architecture and construction. With 17 years of combined industry experience, design and building are very much part of our everyday lives. Taking on our own home build on a challenging, earthquake damaged hill site shaped how we work together and reinforced the value of true collaboration. Alice gained hands on, “on the tools” experience, while Tom provided practical insight to ensure the design was thoughtful, efficient, and buildable.
We’re both driven by evolving design and new materials, and have continued to grow our skill set through overseas travel and exposure to different ways of building. Alice’s experience ranges from high end architectural studios to working closely with builders in a local construction company. Tom has been involved in a wide range of projects, from high end renovations to complex architectural new builds, bringing a strong attention to detail to every project. We share a respect for honest construction and well considered detailing, alongside a careful, considered approach to design that ensures budgets are clearly understood and respected from the drawing board.
Outside of work, we enjoy exploring the South Island, whether tramping, spending time in the garden, heading to the beach, or enjoying the new things Christchurch has to offer.
