Do tattooists make good plasterers/painters?

Tattoo Shop Reception

Client contacted me about creating partition walls to separate waiting area from the tattooing section of the shop. After some planning we decided to go with waist-height walls with an opening leading into the shop area. The opening is framed in such to allow a gate/swing door to be installed at a later date. Total time for this project was 9 hours (Client plastered and painted finished walls)

Aro Valley Basement Conversion

Client approached me wanting to convert the empty space underneath property into a workshop for their special effects business. After consulting a structural engineer and getting the all clear, I dug out nearly 2 tonnes of dirt by hand (!) and loaded it out of the basement and upstairs into the skip. I then added a moisture barrier, constructed the sub-floor framing and laid recycled decking boards as per clients request to use reclaimed materials where possible. Next I manufactured the workbench to the clients wishes, finished with 18mm Plywood and plenty of storage underneath. Finally I added some extra interior wall insulation and a safety handrail. Client is happy with the finished product and we are looking forward to the next exciting project - the bathroom renovation!

We hired Ciaran to do a corporate fit out of new CBD offices that required an eye for detail, problem solving, some design thinking and good basic building skills. A great job, he was prompt, professional, fantastic to have in our office and delivered exactly what we needed. We really appreciated his care and attention to detail, thinking through aspects of the job we hadn't - and it was priced really well. Will definitely hire when we can again.
