Highly recommend Sharp Glass. After locking myself out of the house late at night, I had to smash a glass panel in our back door. Rang Sharp Glass in the morning and the lovely lady there shuffled things around so my repair could be done that afternoon. Young Nick arrived and matched the patterned glass perfectly. I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Sharp Glass. I was charged $460 for what was essentially a 20-minute job completed by two men. After questioning the invoice, I was told there is a minimum call-out fee of 1.5 hours per tradesperson. Had this been clearly communicated upfront, I would have been able to make an informed decision. Charging for three hours of labour for 20 minutes of actual work feels excessive and unreasonable. Transparency around pricing is so important, especially in the current climate. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. I would strongly recommend others clarify all minimum charges before booking. I would advise calling around before making a decision as I it reinstalled for $80 by another company. Reply: Hi Winny, obviously it is disapoint to receive a 1 star review and I am sorry you believe the cost is excessive. In our initial phone call with Chris we did provide the option to quote which was declined, in hindsight we should have pushed to provide you with an estimate to avoid your disapointment. In this situation the glass in question was almost 2000x2000mm square and in excess of 70kg, which requires two technicians. In terms of the time spent travelling to and from the site and on site carefully removing the glass our timers show the guys took in excess of an hour each hence the charge for 1.5 hour per tradesman. I hope that helps explain the cost which we believe is fair. We don't promise to do the cheapest work but we do stand by our ability to do high quality work, quickly and carefully.
