The Retro team has done some interior renovations for us. Although it wasnt a large project, consisting mainly of painting, carpets and repairs the team was efficient timewise and the the detailed Quote provided seemed to have ensured that no extras had to be charged for afterwards. It was also a good experience dealing with them, very friendly and hardworking people. The office seemed to provide good support to the team whenever it was needed. I am happy to recommend! Reply: Hi Lizelle, I’ll be honest and say that most of your work we mainly project managed and as you didn’t have any structural changes that needed doing, (so we didn’t provide a turnkey project in your case with add-ons like the Building Consent, Drawings, obtaining Engineering/Geotech reports, etc. for your project), but nevertheless the end result was amazing! You said you will be moving as a family soon to a bigger, but probably older property, that may need renovating again. Mr Grobler coverted our garage to a granny flat a few years ago.The amazing part was it didn't look like a flat at all once done. He used high end finishes and even now, most days i still consider living there instead of in my house. I always receive compliments when someone views it and i never struggle to rent it out when it goes open. Happy to share photos to anyone who pm me, so i can brag. 😂The project was done within a reasonable budget and at a good speed too. Engela. Reply: Hi Engela, thanks for your review. Although this work has been done years back, I remember seeing the photos and agree I was "shocked" myself to see what a great design came out of this garage conversion. I honestly thought a person would probably put the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and lounge each in its own corner and that is what you could do with a garage conversion, but Irne really has an eye for designs! It looked like a full home inside that garage, even creating a hallway that led to the main bedroom with an on-suite bathroom, that was accessible from the lounge too for visitors was an amazing plan, and a separate dressing room and powder counter that could help you with storage too, was all things that was well planned out. Adding the sliding door to the side of the building (and one at the front, let’s call that the back door), gave the little unit a view over the main houses pool, so there was nothing more any retiree could ask for I would believe! The added parking to the side of the main driveway became a very practical space, when arriving with some shopping items as that was close to the back door. I just loved that unit's design, and the high-end finishes will make it a lovely place to stay in when the day comes for your to retire and rent the main house out. We haven’t heard from you in years, but hope you are keeping healthy and well!
