Job description

Membrane Waterproofing
Wellington

Published: 27 March 2023

We have a deck that requires new waterproofing and detailing. a) The deck is approximately 7x2.5m. One half of the deck is cantilvered approximately 4m above ground level. The other half sits over bedrooms below. b) The existing deck surface is floating untreated timber in okay condition (we would like to reuse if possible). c) The existing waterproofing appears to be TraffiGard. d) Existing detail doesn't appear to be attached to the house cleanly. e) There are historic leaks in 2 bedrooms below (at least 5 years ago) due to the original design and detailing. We would appreciate a site visit to provide your professional opinion of the scope. Our expected scope is: 1. Remove ‘floating’ timber deck 2. Inspect cladding. 3. Install marine grade ply 4. Install butynol membrane 5. Lapping under weatherboards, new timber to complete detail 6. Re-construct floating timber deck (reuse if possible) 6a Provisional: provide new timbers for deck 7. Tidy existing soffit (i.e. inspection access cut) 7a Provisional: full soffit replacement We have a buyer for the house who will purchase if the water leakage risk is mitigated, so we are looking for the most practical solution. A fast turnaround for scoping and pricing would be greatly appreciated, while work could be completed in the coming 1-2 months.
