Fix cladding hole and sash window leak

With the recent rain and southerly wind, we have noticed a leak in and around the sash window in our guest bedroom. The leak is most likely a result of a gap in the cladding (see photo). Looking for a tradesperson to assess the probable cause and fix it. The window is leaking from the top, left bit of the window frame. It also seems to be dripping from behind the base trim of the windowsill. The wall below the window feels damp to the touch. Window is located on the south side of the building. Location is Newtown, Wellington.
