weather proofing weather boards

We have two stored home and a leak has developed down a wall in the bedroom of the downstairs flat. It seems it could be the outside weather boards may be leaking. Its a 1955 construction. I inspected the weather boards but cant see any obvious cracks. I thnk the gib may have to come off from the inside so we can trace the leak.
