Hi folks - the current storm rattling Wellington has put a lot of pressure on our old single-glazed, wooden frame, South-facing windows (5 in total). Water is now leaking in through where the glass and wood meet, and while it's not exactly a flood of water I am keen to have the leaks addressed. We are planning to get double glazing next year, so looking for a short-medium term fix. I have considered using silicone to try bolster the seals, but colleagues have said that there are various putty options that might be better. Keen to talk to someone who knows more about this, and who can do the work in the short term (next couple of weeks). A ladder will be required to access the outside of a couple of windows as it is a 2-story split level house. I figure the external and internal seals will need to be looked at. Thanks
