Leak from roof

I have a skylight in my study which has been damaged, as a result am getting water is leaking through and down into the room. Am not looking for repairs on the skylight or a replacement, have received quotes for these already and they are way out of my budget. Am interested to get a roofer onsite to see what "work arounds" we can put in place to possibly shut the skylight out but just to ensure no leaks come through
