I’m looking for someone to cap the chimney to prevent water entering into the flue or remove the chimney all together depends on the cost. We plan to install the gas fire place in the existing open fire place cavity. The gas fitter commented that it’s a bit wet, so best to cap the chimney before installing the fire place.
