fixing crack

I am looking for some help initially diagnosing the cause of a crack I’ve noticed between the skirting board and wall in my house and then fixing it. The house is a 1930’s weatherboard and this is the north facing side, quite exposed. The outside view (on other side of the wall) has clearly had some work done at some point judging by the weatherboard painting. I am looking for someone who can inspect behind the wall and help me to figure out what the problem is and decide next course of action. Suspicion is some sort leak. I also would like the gutters inspected on the 2nd floor – I don’t have a ladder that can go up that high. May or may not be related. Photos included of 1) Crack between skirting/wall (inside) 2) Corresponding piece outside 3) Gutters I would like inspected.
