Basement waterproofing - short-term fix

Job description

Exterior Waterproofing
Wellington

Published: 8 August 2017

Two-storey home with lower level basement built into the ground (100 square meter total basement). Since we bought the house several years ago, basement has had issues with water getting in through section of the back/side wall. Water entry - we suspect it's a combo of cracks between the foundation/walls along the back of the basement (built into sloping section), as well as external concrete stairs having shifted away from the house so water is running down off the driveway whenever there is heavy rain... Keen to explore options - either external sealing, or potential use of spray on/liquid membrane products ('negative' waterproofing) which might meet our needs for a quick, cost-effective solution. Looking to get remedial work done to last a couple of years - plan on doing extensive renovations to the whole house and grounds in a couple of years (as in, fully excavate that side of the house and reclad the basement), so looking for a solution that will keep the insurance company and our rental tenants happy in the meantime! Please only respond if you are willing to undergo health and safety procedures (sign health and safety agreement; have liability insurance) with specialist skills in waterproofing.
