Slow shower drain needing clearing, Parkvale Hastings

I have a shower drain that is draining, but very slowly.
It is a plastic shower drain with a side outlet (see pic). I suspect the blockage is likely hair, soap scum and buildup in the shower trap/pipe rather than a major outside drain issue.
I removed the drain insert/hair trap a while ago because I hated cleaning it, which was clearly not my finest plumbing decision, so I think hair and gunk may have gone further down.
I have tried a small flexible drain snake but couldn’t pull anything out....
