We have a driveway that is held up by a low retaining wall where the retaining posts are angled inwards. The poles continue up above the driveway and a fence has been attached to these poles. The problem is that the slop of the poles has caused the driveway to be made narrower by approximately 750mm, which has made the driveway very narrow and difficult to use and get out of vehicles. An enginerr has given us a concept of what can be done which is fairly simple. 1) cut posts off at driveway level, 2) bolt timber to remaining posts to form support for timber to widen driveway 3) Install timber Wheel stop to top of new platform. An Engineer has produced some concepts of how this can be done which is attached. I feel that concept 2 looks a stronger design. In the photos attached you can see the sence jutting out into the driveway, What we are trying to achieve is that the edge of the driveway will be almost on the boundary. I have no idea of the actual cost at this stage. It is not a complicated job but will require materials which i am unsure of the cost of.
