Preparing ground for crushed limestone and brick surfacing

This area is a new courtyard area that we ultimately want to have some raised beds, with a crushed limestone and occasional recycled red brick surface. At the moment I am doing it stage by stage to manage costs. I want this area filled with substrate - course sand I think - with the surface levelled appropriately for drainage. The site shape is a little tricky. Site access is also a little tricky and wheelbarrow work will make up quite a lot of the effort. I would want you to provide the course sand, and I dont know how much that will require. Later, I will be looking for someone to do the next stage - that is compacted limestone. Thanks!
