For our ~450sqm property in Grey Lynn we are looking for 1) a major lawn rehabilitation project / or lawn installation, and 2) some garden upgrades with softlandscaping including new shrubs, removal and replacement of some small trees, mulching, gardening and tidy ups, etc. Have attached a number of photos. The critical thing is to garden the lawn looking respectable ASAP as I'm sure it is 80% dead! Am keen on honest advice on the best course of action - IE, install brand new ready lawn (and do all the ground prep on my behalf), or dethatch, aerate, spread seeds and fertilise (ie the full 9 yards). Not perfect to be doing during summer but need to press ahead now On the soft landscaping, we are keen to expand some shrubs in the front part of our house and cover the exposed ground inbetween the stones with mulch or some covering plants (ie mondo or something better). Along the side lay new stones so looks tidy and nice as get lost over the years. In the back, take out the deformed trees (some already removed), replace new new trees, extend the shrubs in front of the trees to infront of the fence (replacing the tall grass), topping up the mulch with fresh mulch, removing as much as practical greenwaste we have dumped just behind our fence & retaining wall, as well as other work on shurbs in the back, together with basic gardening and tidy up all over, wedding etc. Open to ideas on incrementally improving the layout but not looking for anything major in terms of hard landscaping or construction. There will definitely be scope for ongoing maintenance and support for the garden and lawn over the next 3 months.
