Existing stone retaining wall at front of property to be replaced with timber wall matching other retaining walls on our property. Wall height is 500mm at lowest end, to 1500mm at highest end, so should be able to be built without council consent. There is a large tree stump on the bank above the highest end - want to know if can be dug out as part of removing existing wall (this would be preferred), or if need to separately get stump removal company in to remove before retaining wall can be replaced. Want to do without council consent being needed. Engineering plans required?
