Hi there, A lot of homeowners and builders that I've talked to are grappling with a common headache: dealing with engineers whose work is expensive, biased, and slow-going. This puts a lot of pressure on the homeowners and builders who are getting back certifications that lean one way, and having to push back deadlines because of late sign-offs. It's not a picnic for you, especially when you're dealing with a tight schedule and budget. At Studio89, we specialize in teaming up with clients

Finding Trustworthy Auckland Insulation Professionals

Auckland weather too hot or cold? Find reliable insulation professionals here to keep your home comfortable in all seasons!

Everyone wants their home to be cool in summer and warm in winter, which is why many Auckland homeowners and landlords are having insulation installed in their properties. Even though there is a growing trend amongst New Zealanders to do-it-themselves, many are choosing to hire insulation professionals to complete the work for them.

Finding a professional insulation installer you can trust can be challenging. That’s when using Builderscrack to find one who has the right experience and skills is a great decision.

How To Pick An Auckland Insulation Installer

Profession insulation installers are required to meet the New Zealand standard (NZS 4246:2006 Installing Insulation in Residential Buildings) which maps out exactly how each type of insulation on the market needs to be installed within a residential property. This includes things such as placement near light fittings, how thick the insulation must be and which type is suitable for walls, underfloor or in ceilings.

As well as meeting the required national standard, insulation professionals have the opportunity to belong to the Insulation Association of New Zealand (IAONZ) if they successfully complete the training in underfloor and ceiling insulation offered by IOANZ. By hiring an insulation specialist within Auckland who is a current member, you can be assured that they will be able to complete the job safely and correctly to the national benchmark.

Using The Right Type Of Insulation For Your Home

Although Auckland does not have the freezing weather seen down south in winter, it can still get quite chilly. Then in summer we wish that our houses were a lot cooler when the sun pops out! Having the right type of insulation installed in the right places within your home will help keep it warmer in winter and cooler in summer, making it vital both you and your installer pick the right insulation type for the right place.

  • Glass Fibre – suitable for walls, ceilings and underfloor, glass fibre insulation is made from recycled glass. It can cause skin and throat irritations when touched, which is why using a professional installer who is experienced in using it is better than doing it yourself.
  • Reflective Foil – only suitable for underfloor insulation in existing homes as it does not meet the current building code for new builds. Use of a professional insulation installer is recommended because of the high risk of injury or damage if fitted incorrectly.
  • Polyester and Wool –is new to the insulation product market, but preferred by some as it does not cause the irritations which glass fibres cause to skin. It is suitable for use in ceilings, walls and underfloor but is more costly than glass fibre. Some prefer the option of wool as a more natural and sustainable material source rather than polyester.
  • Expanded Polystyrene - made in specially manufactured flexible yet rigid sheets, expanded polystyrene can be used to insulate floors, ceilings and walls.
  • Loose Fill Insulation – Mostly used in ceiling and roof spaces, loose fill insulation is sprayed in. It must be installed by insulation professionals and is not recommended for use in areas where you want to store things, as it makes a lot of dust.

Now is the time to start getting your property ready for the change in seasons! Post your insulation job now and let the City of Sails insulation professionals come and find you!
