Joinery Art easel for joinery repair. Not sure what wood this is - French item, probably 1940s. The up stands which the painting leans against have been damaged in transit. Suspect previous repairs are at play. Job is to repair and add small adjustable brass levelling feet. The intent is to use this for a Samsung frame /flat screen tv - so needs to be stable. Up stands were held in place by x2 dowels The stands slide over and were previously glued in place. The stands have split on the edge and face to about 16cm up. One is cracked and missing shards of timber. Easy fix: Re-glue and clamp as is with filler, or cut the upstands down by 16-18cm (beyond the splits) and re-dowel. More substantive - redo the upstands and take down below the mantle to connect with the main legs so that it’s more robust. Will take advice on the best option once you’ve inspected. Needs to be done within 4 weeks of collection.
