The existing old metal flat channel ducting in the wall behind the old dryer will need to be removed and the new dryer hose fitted to the remaining circular ducting somehow to keep the outlet air flow as resistance free as possible as the existing ducting set up is long. The new dryer instructions recommend not exceeding 2 metres in venting length. Additional timber/packer will need to be installed on the wall lower down so the new dryer hangs properly and so that the new hose is not crushed. The old dryer hose can be seen squashed behind the dryer and it was found to be blocked with lint which may be why the dryer has failed as it was having trouble expelling heated air. The new dryer will hang upside down so the controls on the front console will be upside down. A new console decal/sticker may be able to be purchased if this is an issue.
